Hope I'm not too far off topic here.

I'm looking for definitive documentation on the correct MIME type for a .dmg disk image file.

The default Apache install on MacOS X has

bash-2.05a$ grep dmg mime.types
application/octet-stream bin dms lha lzh exe class so dll dmg

The admin of the web server I use is keen to get it set in the default install for Debian Linux, but this will take a little a little more proof than me saying "Its the default on MacOS X".

Please reply off list if this subject is irrelevant for the list.
