NSL Manager & AFP

  • Subject: NSL Manager & AFP

Hello,

In our application I'm trying to use the NSL's to allow the user to choose a computer instead of forcing them to type in an IP address. It all works well except when the user chooses an AFP server over AppleTalk, in which case I get the AppleTalk name (afp://at/...).

Ideally I'd restrict the user so that they can only choose IP-based services. Is that possible? And if it isn't, how do I obtain the IP address of an AFP URL?

This is basically being used to alleviate the need to enter in IP addresses manually, I'm really allowing the user to choose a an computer (interface/IP address), not service. Is there a better API/protocol to do that?

Thanks,
Ryan
