PPP Connection to Cisco Server

  • Subject: PPP Connection to Cisco Server

We've developed a set of OS9 and OSX network drivers for a USB ADSL
modem. One potential OEM of the modems has encountered an environment
where we have problems with PPP connections. When connecting to a Cisco
PPP server (I'm not sure right now of the model), Apple Remote Access
4.x (OS 9.2) and the PPP component of OSX both only connect 10-20% of
the time. When using the exact same client configurations, we connect
100% of the time to Redback servers. The OEM noted that in the Cisco
case, under OS9, the PPP data coming back to the server had incorrect ID
and magic-number values. Has anyone seen this?

Thanks,
-Chris
