I don't think there's some sort of conspiracy going on. The people who
present at WWDC are the actual coders themselves for the most part, and
spend time preparing presentations. They're not the people who do
full-time documentation. I think it's a matter of priorities for the
people who do documentation. Do they cover the changes in Cocoa API's,
write Rendezvous docs and sample code, Address Book API examples,
Sherlock Plugin examples, CFNetwork stuff? Let them know what you want,
and they might change priorities.
It's also hard to say they're being too cheap, as streaming 300-500MB
QT files has expensive costs, as do making nice DVD's.
Maybe they could do something like make the powerpoint presentations
free for download; it doesn't hurt to make the suggestion.
Either way, I wouldn't be surprised if you see some CF documentation
soon.

And doesn't that suck?
For *basic*, *essential* information on Jaguar technologies only the
select
few that pony up $800 for the DVDs can be "in". It'd be different if
there
was complete and detailed documentation and sample code available, but
there's not. In many (most?) cases the slides and presentations at
WWDC are
the only good source of information on many Jaguar technologies. And,
Apple,
in their infinite wisdom, has decided that only those willing to pony
up
$800 can get this information.
It really bugs me that Apple is being so cheap and self-serving when it
comes to this material. I simply don't understand their position.
