Hi,
I was wondering if you are using UDP transaction less communication, and
you setup a listener on a particular port, and somebody sends you something,
and you are listening and then you pick up the message,
What happens if you haven't returned to listening to pickup the next
message ???.
As I thought if you weren't listening you missed it, but I have some Open
transport code which I've written, which seem to pick n message, even though
you aren't listening ???. (I am doing this all locally so I am wondering if
that's why it seems to work ??).
I have setup a notifier and initially listening on asynchronous transaction
OTInstallNotifier(endPoint,
NewOTNotifyUPP((OTNotifyProcPtr)notifyProc), &gMessage );
OTSetAsynchronous(endPoint);
When I setup up the bind
inAddr.fAddressType = AF_INET;
inAddr.fPort = 3200;
inAddr.fHost = kOTAnyInetAddress;
bindReq.addr.len = sizeof(InetAddress);
bindReq.addr.maxlen = sizeof(InetAddress);
bindReq.addr.buf = (unsigned char*) &inAddr;
bindReq.qlen = 1; // Number of simultaneuos
connections
err = OTBind(endPoint, &bindReq, nil);
Any ideas on how its suppose to work, Is it suppose to pick up other
messages ???
(also adding in multicast membership, would that effect it ???)
All doc's seems to imply I would miss the message ???. Although doesn't
really cover this.
Thanks in advance
Mark.
