What if your only Mac is a notebook?
I ended up buying an expensive ISDN-modem (www.hermstedt.de) which
replaces the internal Airport Basestation modem. Now it cannot connect to
a plain old telephone (POTS) line anymore.
If the Basestation could use any external USB modem (POTS, DECT, ISDN,
DSL ...), it would be way more flexible (and cheaper)...
But you're right, this is probably not the appropriate list for this type
of discussion.
