Hi Dave,

I just tried AT+VCID=1 on my new iBook (located in Ohio, USA) and I
got a RING for each ring but no caller ID info. I do get the caller
id info with my old Supra 288 external modem (it uses AT#CID=1). I'll
have to look for any Apple technical docs on their modem and its
commands.
Heres a link to a caller ID faq from someone in the UK. Section 6
says Denmark uses "an esoteric DTMF system".

This information is indeed useful!!
-It appears to me that there is approximately 0 modems that support the
danish CLIP service, because I phoned TDC (the danish phone company),
and asked them for a modem that supports caller-id. They told me that
none existed yet; and they will know, because you have to get their
approval that the hardware is OK, before you start distributing it.
However; Jacob Blichfeld made his own, it's just not approved yet. The
circuits are available ("Public Domain") from this place...
<

Apple are interested, have a peek... ;)
The CLIP service from TDC is slower, doesn't send a wake-signal first,
does not send time/date, but is easier to implement.
I just wish that TDC would start following *some* standards one day...
:)
Thanks for the info, Dave! :)
Love,
Jens
