I'm sorry to say that there is no workaround for Jag.
Although in all likelihood, if you're working with a socket stream and
got a POSIX domain error with a code between 1 and 4, that's probably
actually an h_errno error - sockets are extremely unlikely to hit POSIX
errors in that range....
