Where do I find out how to use that? I'm kinda new to OS X!

There's a discussion of the kernel debugger in "Inside Mac OS X: Kernel Programming".

Note that this discussion assumes that you've built a kernel from the Darwin source, which would be the first step if you were going to actually do any serious kernel development. However, for this preliminary check you can debug the kernel without having any symbols. You just have to use GDB's assembly language debugging features. If you're familiar with MacsBug, you might find the following technote useful.
