I do not know the answer. As far as I recall, the TCP/IP config data is
stored in "TCP/IP Preferences". There is an NSL mirror copy in the OT
Preferences folder. NSL is responsible for synchronizing the two copies. To
facilitate sync, NSL keeps some markers. If one of the resources you
changed belongs to NSL, your changes may not stick, but I am only guessing
here. It also is important that the mod date of "TCP/IP Preferences"
advance -- I think NSL tracks it to know if the file might contain newer
information.

Maybe using NSL will be the quicker solution if no one else can offer any
help with the prefs file. If you have specific questions about NSL, please
ask.
