Searching for beacon packets with an Airport card

  • Subject: Searching for beacon packets with an Airport card

In the pursuit of a list of available 802.11 networks I thought I'd try filtering for beacon packets. Before I try this a few questions occurred to me:

1) Does Panther use filters to search for beacon packets?
2) How much time is spent searching for beacon packets?
3) How does the filtering impact data transmission?
