Yes, this may be a limitation of our RIP.
But what bit me was the changed behaviour of OpenTransport - on 9 it
does
translate the global broadcast address 255.255.255.255 automatically,
on
X it doesn't.
I don't know OT, or the code that implements it. Can't tell whether
this (gratuitous changing of addresses) is part of an API, a default
setting, or a gift from the developers. There tends to be less of this
in BSD-style stacks.
Sigh - too much time for such annoying details - I would like to spend
that time to make the app more Aqua-compliant instead.
Ain't that always the way...
