Marc,

i try to figure out if i can use "xinetd" for announce a service
over mDNS , because it seems that it has good security implementations.

does that make sense?

xinetd only provides limited advertising of services to mDNSResponder.

In Mac OS X, all xinted services are advertised via Rendezvous automatically.
