NSURL 10.2.x and https doesn't work

Someone may have the answer to this?
Using NSURL for http without a problem for 10.1.5 up thru 10.3.x.
However if I do a https request 10.1.x and 10.3.x are fine - but 10.2.x
refuses to work.
This is code that is solid and has been working without a problem for a year
or more - it uses a separate thread of execution for the http or https request
and DOA to talk back to the main thread of execution. I have a work arround
of using http instead of https for 10.2.x but would prefer to do it via
https.
Anyone else run into this and is there a better work arround than what I'm
doing.
