Airport Extreme card and MoreSCF

This is related to my previous question about being able to distinguish
between wired and wireless Ethernet interfaces. I've noticed that the
Airport Extreme card naming behaves different from the normal Airport
card in MoreSCF.
The regular Airport card has Hardware=Airport and
UserDefinedName=Airport. This is true for pre-existing Locations and
Locations that my code creates.
However the AirPort Extreme card appears to have Hardware=Airport and
UserDefinedName=Airport for existing Locations (such as Automatic) and
Hardware=Ethernet and UserDefinedName="PCI Ethernet Slot unknown, Port
2" for Locations that I create.
As you can imagine, not only does that make it difficult to find the
Airport card in code, it doesn't look so great when presenting in a
popup menu of available interfaces. The user wouldn't have any idea
what that was.
Any thoughts on why the Airport Extreme names not "correct" in SCF for
locations I create?
If that's how it's supposed to be, how do I detect that it's an Airport
Extreme card and display my own pretty name for it?
Thanks,
Dave
