Yes, I could ... or you could google for it yourself. Look for
LInterruptSafeList.

Not possible. Use PowerPlants networking classes on OS 9 and use
sockets on OS X.
If what you say is really true, I would also hope that at some point
Metrowerks update their PowerPlant networking classes to use a 'better
api'.
That will not happen.
