For me:

$ fink list ethereal Information about 4779 packages read in 7 seconds. (i) ethereal 0.10.10-11 Powerful network protocol analyzer ethereal-ssl 0.10.10-11 Powerful network protocol analyzer (with SSL)

But also, in my /sw/etc/fink.conf file I have:

Trees: local/main stable/main stable/crypto local/bootstrap unstable/main unstable/crypto local/injected

Perhaps you need to add the unstable trees?
