MoreSCF problem

  • Subject: MoreSCF problem

Okay set UUID's started in Jaguar (10.2).

However in setting up a virgin OS for 10.2.0 and 10.3.0 one typically has an Automatic with a setID of "0". In moving through to 10.3.9 via upgrading you still have an Automatic with a setID of "0". As a result the MoreSCF code works well for me since it looks for the largest number beyond the list of numbers that are discreet and hence should work for all releases 10.1.0 through 10.3.9 so long as the user never deletes all entries that map to a discreet number.

The problem I have with MoreSCF arises when there are no discreet numbers for any of the setID members and all setID members are UUID's, then MoreSCF gives rise to a large negative number ("-24.....") off the top of my head.

Should the anticipated 10.4.0 due out on 4/29/2005 not provide an Automatic with a "0" but instead uses a UUID then I will have a problem in using MoreSCF.

Hence my looking for a more recent release of MoreSCF.

TIA - Arthur J. Lewis
