I need to write a bit of code to allow a computer to get the
distinguished name of its own Active Directory (not Open Directory) path.
I’ve compiled the OD sample code and can get
information about the top level nodes of the Open Directory. I was hoping
to inspect down the /LDAPv3 tree or perhaps the “/Active Directory/All Domains”
nodes until I find my own machine name, but most computers won’t have
permissions to inspect these nodes.
How might one go about getting this information? Is it
even available to the standard machine without an administrator granting it
rights it probably shouldn’t have?
Thanks,
Dave
