- Thread-topic: Behaviour FSResolveAlias() in Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) is not proper
We have one server and client scenario.
User from the Server machine (OS 9.x) mounts a Windows 2000 Server
machine from chooser (say Volume FileServ).
Now this server machine is started.
Whenever Client (from Mac 9.x or Mac OS X (till Panther) tries to
connect to the Server Machine , the Server machine sends the AliasHandle
of the FileServ,
Client call FSResolveAlias(with same AliasHandle) to mount the volume
FileServ.
It works fine in OS 9.x, Jaguar and Panther (i.e. throws MOUNT DIALOG).
But with OS X 10.3.4 (Tiger), it is not mounting i.e. it doesnt throws
the required MOUNT DIALOG.
FSResolveAlias() does behaves properly if its parameter (aliashandle) is
returned by OS X machine i.e Server Machine is in Mac OS X.
I presume that some conversion is required at Tiger end or the Alias
Handle is not valid.
Replies will be highly appreciated
