I'll just shoot: I use select() to handle my sockets.

I have another function which creates an outgoing connection, and then use
FD_SET(sockfd, &active_fd_set);
 to add it in the set.
But, when THAT socket writes back data, select() ignores it!
I have to use telnet and create another connection in order to FLUSH the data, so that it arrives. It seems select() does not return because the socket doesn't "connect".
My fdset_debug() function tells me that the socket is in fact in the set.

Here's some relevant code:

Thanks in advance!
