- Thread-topic: Using the airport command line tool for joining a WPA network
Hello,
I can't manage to join a WPA-based Wi-Fi network on Mac OS X 10.4.8 with the
airport command line tool (version 429.6.0) located at
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Versions/Current/
Resources/airport
While I am able to connect both in interactive and non-intercative modes to
a WEP SSID, only the interactive command works with a WPA SSID:
The following command is successful (well, most of the time):
$ airport --associate=SomeSSID --password=SomeWEPKey
The following command is always successful:
$ airport --associate
Network Name (SSID): <SomeSSID>
WPA Key: <SomeWPAKey>
But the following command returns an error:
$ airport --associate=SomeSSID --password=SomeWPAKey
Error (88001012) associating to SomeSSID
Am I missing something here?
Thanks,
Benoit
