I think I saw once that it is ok to post a job offer in an email list
but not to request a job on such a list. I hope I am correct.
My name is Dalton Hamilton and I am the European Senior Network
Engineer for a US Government organization in Europe. My office is at
Landstuhl in Germany. I will be departing my position as of 1 Dec
and the company is actively looking for my replacement.
The person must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a ADP
Level security clearance.
A. The person needs to be a senior network engineer -- CCNP
preferred. We've got a huge amount of Cisco, Nortel, Juniper
NetScreens, BlueCoats, Pix firewalls, etc, etc.
B. 4 Year college degree in computer related field -- this is
mandatory because it is in the contract and to obtain TESA status for
this position, you must have it.
C. He needs to know OSX -- this is very important. Not just how to
run the GUI but the person must understand the command line of OSX --
in other words, should know *unix.
D. I've written custom Cocoa applications that provide realtime
monitoring, alerts, and performance metrics and graphing, for our
network. This is written 100% in XCode and Objective C and C. As
you can imagine, the code has a bit of BSD TCP/IP Socket code so if
you know Socket coding, that would be great also.
As the title above mentions, you would be the Senior Network Engineer
for Europe for this organization and would have Engineers reporting
to you from Rota, LRMC, Naples, and Sigonella (Sicily). You would be
required to write a monthly report and monitor the work of your
engineers. You would have to travel to each site once a year to meet
with your engineers and do somewhat of an audit of their process,
procedures, and network. You will also be required to manage an OSX
Server and 60+ remote OSX Mac Mini end-points. You'll be required to
work on various network troubleshooting and design issues and
projects. You'll also need to maintain an MRTG and InterMapper
server and a basic PKI Enabled webserver.
The position is a contract position and the company that I'm working
for is absolutely great to work with. The job has a starting salary
of around $89k + $62k in extra housing and cost-of-living so the
total beginning compensation is over $150 with plenty of room to
grow. The position is tax free from German taxes and the first $94k
of your money is tax free from the US. They have excellent 401k
matching and excellent health insurance.
If you truly meet the qualifications above and are interested in
applying, please send me an email to email@hidden
Thanks
Dalton Hamilton
