Dial-up connections

Hi all;
I'm trying to make a one-time connection using a modem, and I'm a bit stumped as to how I can do that. I'm getting a connection ref with SCNetworkConnectionCreateWithServiceID and starting it with SCNetworkConnectionStart, both of which work fine. I'm trying to pass a username and phone number through the userOptions parameter, but it's not having an effect. The documentation says that overridden values for some fields are ignored for security reasons, which probably includes these fields.

Other than creating a custom Service in the SystemConfiguration file, is there a way to make this one-off connection happen?

All assistance is greatly appreciated;
Mark Christian
