Ok, will do. I'll probably suggest the lower level daemon style, since in most cases, the GUI method can be done with applescript.

In this situation, certain hardware requirements will prevent me from using Applescript. I guess I'll have to go the openURL route.

The mail messages in this particular case require an attachment though. Quinn, do you see any problems in sending messages with attachments using the openURL method? Can I just generate the encoded string for the attachment and include it in the "body="?
