Are the Bond/VLAN interfaces derivatives of SCNetworkInterface?

  • Subject: Are the Bond/VLAN interfaces derivatives of SCNetworkInterface?

It appears as though the VLAN (and I assume Bond) interface objects are usable as SCNetworkInterface objects (for instance, to get the BSD interface name).

Is this in fact true? Is it safe to call SCNetworkInterface calls on VLAN/Bond interfaces?

If not, what's the appropriate mechanism to get the BSD name, MTU, etc of a VLAN/Bond interface?

Thanks,

- Terry
