Ok. I'll post the code to this list as well shortly (it's simple and short). I find it odd that no one else would have seen that ... seems like it would break a lot of software.

We have code that makes use of SO_NOSIGPIPE and haven't had any reports of issues of signal generation on 10.5.8... of course sockets don't normal get in a state to cause something like this in our software. In other we may just be lucky.
