Here's a horrible, horrible problem that has come up:
Here's a complete demo app where you can select to be a client or server for real-time networking using TCPIP (in fact, using the reliable AsyncSocket library -- the latest version from CocoaAsyncSocket)
http://www.mediafire.com/?a1cnkodxd5mna6c
It works perfectly on all devices I have found to test, but incredibly, it does NOT work on the:
iPodTouch4
what the heck ?! Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?
Here's a movie: http://www.mediafire.com/?rie4xpeeptgemvo
You can see it works beautifully when something else (3GS phone in the example) is the client.
But the iPodTouch-4gen ... no good. Delivery is rubbish, often with half-second-ish gaps.
Here's the same question on SO:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5917426/horrible-ipodtouch4-specific-networking-problem-demo-app-video
I've never had a device-specific problem before.
It's 100% repeatable .. try it !
Heinous, heinous .......... :-/
Any ideas, anyone ?? _______________________________________________
