CFSockets client side blocking

Right now I have a client application running with CFSockets in a non blocking mode.  It sends data out and then receives data on a callback function.  Due to the way the application processes data I think it would be better if it blocked while receiving data.  I'm still pretty new to the whole CFSockets over BSD sockets deal.  Does anyone have a small example of what a non-blocking client side send/receive function would look like?  Thanks.

~Jeremy
