What does a codec have to do to enable Y'CbCr rendering and
high-precision rendering in Final Cut Pro?
In particular, Final Cut Pro's Sequence Preset Editor erroneously
permits only RGB rendering for all the real-time lossless Sheer Y'CbCr
codecs except for Sheer Y'CbCr[A] 8bv 4:4:4[:4] ('r408','v408'), even
though none of these codecs support RGB. It seems to me that the option
to "Render 10-bit material in high-precision Yuv" should be available
for all the Sheer Y'CbCr 10bv codecs, and the "Render in 8-bit Yuv"
option should be available for all the Sheer Y'CbCr 8bv codecs.
The 8-bit Sheer codecs are available as a fully functional free tryout
at

The 10-bit Sheer codecs are currently in beta. To join the beta
program, visit

Thanks in advance for any help,
Andreas
