RT Extreme programming requirements?

  • Subject: RT Extreme programming requirements?

Hey all, I just found out about this list. Looks like I've missed a total of 18 posts since its inception! I recognize a couple of your names from other lists. Hi!

Here's my first question:

Is "RT Extreme" just a marketing term, or is there something special a codec has to do to work in RT Extreme? There's no documentation on this whatsoever, and queries elsewhere have led nowhere.

Specifically, BitJazz Inc. has a set of real-time lossless video codecs, SheerVideo, supporting 8- and 10-bit, RGB[A] and Y'CbCr[A], 4:4:4[:4] and 4:2:2, progressive and interlaced, that our users are eager to be able to use in RT Extreme. A free tryout can be downloaded from

http://www.bitjazz.com/sheervideo/

Thanks in advance for any help,

Andreas
