Simple, find a new application.
Thanks - that's what I did - dropped back to Soundtrack Pro - at least it handles MIDI sync - if not events. For the record, I have worked with music sequencers since the Amiga - have owned and used Opcode, Cubase, and CakeWalk since 1980-something. It's not like I don't understand what I want to do. It's the LogicPro interface/functional-organization that is the problem. The reason I shelled $$$ out for LogicPro was that I had the expectation it would be similarly accommodating as are the other ProApps. It is not.
I find it strange that you would post your inability to figure out a piece of software to a list of folks who make a living working with it.
I also write Mac applications for a living - have done so for over 10 years - am certainly aware of how to deal with large sets of inter-related details - have created MANY MANY large, ambitious, creative projects with Final Cut Pro, Motion, and DVD Studio Pro. It's not like I am a newbie to the world of Mac Pro apps. But, sadly, LogicPro 7 is in a class all by itself.
My hope was to post to a list of folks who WRITE them. As far as "figure it out" - that's not the point. Like with so many computer-related programs, no single detail is, inherently, that complicated. It's the amalgamation and organization of those myriad details which is the difficult part to assimilate. LogicPro 7 makes this an especially difficult chore.
Obviously, we've all been able to figure it out. Actually, this is not obvious and I wonder about that collective 'we'. BTW, thank you for the restraint in making note of my inherent limitations. Best wishes and congratulations on your success with LogicPro
=========================================== I am with you 100%.
Thanks - after writing the list - in complete frustration, having wasted the entire weekend on the LogicPro project - it occurred to me how Apple lists do not gladly suffer whining and complaints.
My comments were placed here to register what was my personal experience with the people who might be responsible for doing something about it. There's no bug, per se, to post at BugReporter and I am constantly reminded that Apple Developers do not create project action-items based on comments in user forums.
...I anticipate that Apple is going to attempt to take the pro market with audio solutions that rely solely on host based processing as opposed to expensive add on cards and sell a lot of Macintoshes doing it.
HERE HERE - this makes nothing but sense. Let's do THAT and get LogicPro into shape to compete with the ProTools interface and EVERYONE will be a winner!
Best wishes to ALL,
Lance Drake
