Hi all,
Still having problems, here what happens:
Having some projects open.
Calling the open project list:
All projects are listed
Double click a project in Finder.
Opens in FCP telling me it's from elder version
Converts and shows up.
Saving with new name. (!!!!!!)
Calling the open project list:
FCP_AE_Tester: project is not listed
our code: project is not listed
Any ideas why? Are the projects cached somewhere?
Thanks
Andreas

Hi Michael,
It's somehow good to hear that you don't experience any problems.
Could you describe what you add to the projects and how many
projects are open? Maybe that could give us some idea what's going
wrong here.
Thanks
Andreas

Hi Andreas,
FWIW we're creating a project at my organization that uses that
new AE extensively and we've not seen the problem you describe.
Like Eryk pointed out the only time we don't get a project is when
it hasn't been initially saved.
In our application we're sending things to the bin regularly and
can do it multiple times without saving the project in its
modified (but having been saved in the past) state.

Thanks Eryk,
As said the "untitled" stuff is easy to understand as there is
"only" a temp file path. The other thing is very hard to
reproduce - it happens or doesn't happen (both on my machine and
two other machines outside my office).
The only random rule we figured out is that this will happen only
if the project is modified (i.e. some sequence is added) thru AE.
I have no idea what the difference is.
I can send you the app under NDA, maybe you see the same thing -
maybe not and it's a configuration thing on the machines we used
to test the app. But as said the Apple example code and our code
do give the same result (still using Tiger).
Kind regards
Andreas

Andreas,
Projects that have never been saved to a file will not be
reported in the open projects list. This is (in part) because
the only way to refer to projects via apple events is with a
file path or reference.
I have never seen the behavior you describe - i.e. projects
"disappearing" from the list. I will do some investigation, but
without a repeatable test case there is not a lot I can do.

Hi all,
Again a FCP AE question.
We are using the new "kFCPGetAllOpenProjects" call, this works
fine sometimes, sometimes not. I haven't found out a rule or
whether it's our code or not.
It always works when FCP is starting "fresh" with some project
(s) and it is always working if things are modified in FCP
itself. But it seems that sometimes if the projects are
modified by AE they are flagged as "dirty" and not included in
the returned list as well as any newly added "untitled
projects" - that happens both with the original Apple code and
our own.
To try, open FCP holding down shift key and run the
"FCP_AE_Tester" - though there is an "Untitled Project 1" there
is no feedback, which is understandable as there is no "secure"
saved path where the project can be found.
But randomly - or maybe following some rules - also "real"
project paths disappear from the list.
Has anyone else made the same experience?
Thanks
Andreas
