FCP6 YUV conversion problem when scaling media?

  • Subject: FCP6 YUV conversion problem when scaling media?

Saw this today while debugging an FxPlug.

Make a sequence that is D1.
Import a still graphic that is NOT D1 (720 x 540 does nicely).

Drop the still onto a layer and then apply an FxPlug. You might need to apply a third-party one.

SOMETIMES - the image in the LEFT monitor will get covered with fuzzy green stripes, and the byte order looks messed up.

Anyone seen this?

Also - can someone explain why plugins need to be compiled ARGB even on Intel Macs? All other hosts I've seen do BGRA on Intel Macs on ARGB on PPC macs. The way FCP/Motion do it was a surprise.
