Hi Dave,
this is similar t what I have seen last year. When I drop a layer
into the a image well, I still get the image/clip, but after having
it running for a while, Motion stales when I try to remove the
plugins from the layers ad it takes forever for Motion to came back
to life. This does not happen, when I apply an image or a clip
directly from the media tab to an image well.

OK, I have found that the problem exists when you place a Layer
Group into the image well. If you use a Layer Group it crashes.
If I use a single source layer ( with or without filters ) it works
fine. I have placed an example Generator and source at
<www.cidertank.com/TESTDRIVE.zip> . This demonstrates the behavior
I am speaking of. If you experience it as well I will report as a
bug.

I am using FxPlug SDK 1.2 and Motion3. Created a generator, and
am trying to retrieve a texture from an image reference
parameter. The getTexture method returns YES all the time even
when there is nothing in the image well. The FxTexture pointer
always returns NULL even when there is an object in the well.
This code works great in Motion2 with FxPlug 1.1.
Any changes or known bugs that might cause this?
Nothing comes to mind. Do you think you could file a bug at
bugreporter.apple.com, with a reproducible case with a plug-in (or
even better, a barebones plug-in Xcode project) that demonstrates
the problem?
