codec in XML

Hello,

I seem to find codecs (and their specifics) only sporadically encoded in XMLs out of FCP 6.0.1. None of the straight clips that I exported so far has it, but sequences and multiclips seem to have it.

Wouldn't it be reasonable to expect the codecs be encoded in each <file>? Can anyone shed some light, please?
