XML CDATA question

  • Subject: XML CDATA question
  • From: Rainer Standke <email@hidden>

I was looking for a way to incorporate text into an XML to be imported into FCP, and to be retrieved later on from an exported XML, after some more editing had been done.

I explored privatestate as place to put that at, and I am running into a problem: The data that I write into the XML, like: <! [CDATA[Rainer]]>, comes back quite different, like this: <![CDATA[M!). %2@@@@@@H@@@@@@@A@@@K@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@R/4!4)/.@@@@@%@@@@@@@@]]>.

I am using TextEdit to look at the exported XML.

So, I'm wondering if there is some parsing going on, or if it's caused by some text encoding issue. Could anyone shed some light, please?

Thanks,

Rainer
