*** WARNING: The API "-[QCOpenGLContext initWithCGLContextObj:pixelFormat:options:]" is deprecated

this is a red herring; you'll see this on any copy of FCP running on Leopard. We're using some deprecated API until we no longer support Tiger.

I'm hoping this rings a bell with someone -- if not, I'll post some more details...

Steve's right - a crash log is probably the best way to get this investigation started.
