Yes, QuickTime does not do the right thing with 59.94DF. This affects QuickTime Player and also if you use the QuickTime timecode routines.
Final Cut doesn't have the problem because has its own timecode routines.

I just submitted a Quicktime bug report (8051170) because Quicktime 7.6.6 wasn't properly reading 59.94DF timecode in Quicktime movies rendered out of Final Cut Pro 7.0.2 (and possibly other versions of QT and FCP, but those are the ones I have in front of me). The weird thing is, Final Cut reads it perfectly when I re-import the clip into Final Cut. I guess my question is, what is Final Cut doing differently? Does it have its own timecode reading libraries?
Thanks, - David
