Terry,
We have been struggling with the same problem. Our solution for now
involves two parts: VNC and Scheduled Tasks.
We run VNC on every Windows workstation so we can at least remotely
connect to the machine for manual interaction, and the need to reboot.
We are in the process of setting up a scheduled task that will run every
Friday evening at 7pm. The task runs "shutdown -f -r -t 0" running the
shutdown.exe found in C:\windows\system32.
We run the rEFIt boot picker since it kicks in before getting to the Mac
OS. We tried the Apple Bootpicker but had too many complaints about
waiting for the Mac to come up, then shutdown, then Windows startup. We
default rEFIt to boot into the Mac OS after 60 seconds. If they can't
make their choice in that time then they suffer the consequences.
My wish list includes Apple writing a small app to run within Windows
that lets Apple Remote Desktop control aspects of the Windows
workstation: reboot, default boot device, file transfers.
Please let me know if you alternative solutions.
Matthew

Corey has been promoting the benefits of BootCamp and BootPicker in
various seminars over the past year. But I'm stuck on something that
I'm sure there must be answer to.
How can I force a Windows machine to reboot after some period of
inactivity? I know how to do it in Mac OS, but not in Windows (Vista,
in particular). These are all stand alone machines--no AD, no OD, no
file services, no print services.
TIA.
