I think I may have found the

Apparently you need 10.6.3 on
your external drive or your server boot image for some of the new MBP’s.
However, one post here states that a MBP would not boot to an external DVD
Drive even with the disks that came with the machine.

Just received a couple of MacBook Pro 15” with the
Intel i5 processor. For some reason I cannot get these machines to
image. They will not boot to my server or to an external hard
drive. Has anyone experienced this?
