A
few weeks ago when searching for information on when there might be a true 64-bit
version of Final Cut Pro available, I had found an article claiming that QuickTime
7 was still needed for Final Cut Pro to work. It sounded like some of the advanced
features and plug-ins used in QuickTime 7 still needed to be added into
QuickTime X. That could also explain why QuickTime 7 is an optional component on
the Snow Leopard client install disc.

All versions of QuickTime are installed with the Pro
abilities grayed out until a valid license code is entered for the Pro version.
