Terry,
I know it's been awhile, but thanks for this. Looks like things have
changed somewhat in 10.6. I'm not finding the mac address in any files,
hidden or otherwise, on the backup disk. What I do find is the machine UUID
in /Library/Preferences/com.apple.TimeMachine.plist. Might be able to do an
edit here and make the files available to the new system. The person whose
problem this is will be away until mid July so I can't make another stab at
it until then.
