Hello All,
We have set up a new OS X 10.6.4 streaming server in our
DMZ, and on campus it works perfectly streaming, but externally It’s not
so kind. We’ve narrowed it down to when the external client gets
the .mp4 file for QT/VLC/MP to open, the file contains this:
rtsptext
rtsp://172.25.1.125:8000/<…>/<…>.mp4
The IP address in the .mp4 text is the server’s
internal IP address, and will never work externally for a client to connect
to. The NAT is a 1-1 mapping to a real external public IP with all ports
open, however we can communicate with the other services on the system
externally.
I’ve tried to add the public IP as another IP to bind
to, change DNS hostnames, and also have changed the alt_transport_src_ipaddr in
the .xml config file to no avail. I cannot get the real public IP or the DNS
name into that rstp link.
Is there something else I’m missing, or is the
placement of the qtss services/server a problem that has no solution?
