Many of you have been using Mobile Device Management solutions for almost one year. As you know, most certificates associated with MDM must be renewed annually.
The one certificate that you obtain directly from Apple is the Apple Push Notification Service certificate. There is a new process for you to renew the APNs certificates.
Key facts: - Customers that generated an APNs MDM certificate using the iOS Developer Enterprise Program must log into the new Apple Push Certificates Portal to renew their existing APNs certificates using the same Apple ID as the team agent for the developer account (the Apple ID that enrolled in the developer program).
Once the APNs certificate expires, the MDM server cannot contact clients and devices cannot be enrolled. - Renewing an APNs certificate properly, even after expiration, does not require devices to be re-enrolled. This means that the certificate topic/subject match for the new and old certificate. This is handled automatically if the same certificate is renewed.
- Customers are encouraged to log into the Apple Push Certificates Portal early to confirm that you can see and renew your existing certificates before they expire, in order to avoid urgent support issues.
If you have questions, feel free to contact your Apple SE.
Thanks, Corey
