You could try either of these. They both install on a mac or pc and display your iPad on your computer that is hooked up to the smartboard.

If you want to hard wire the iPad, the Apple store sells adaptors that allow you to physically connect to the projector. There is a 30-pin to VGA adapter and also a 30-pin Digital AV adapter that include a HDMI port.
