We are currently looking at replacing some older Mac servers with a few Mac Pro 5,1 servers. I found a post and verified that this system is now on the VMware HCL for ESXi 5.1.
Hypothetical setup:
2 x Mac Pro 5,1 systems with ESXi 5.1 installed connected to our vSphere server in a separate cluster.
Questions (not really technical but to stay legal with Apple):
-How does licensing for OS X work in this case?
-How many OS X VMs can we run - as many as the hardware can handle or just a certain number per physical system like a client with Fusion installed?
Thanks,
Eric
