| Hello Rockies list,
Yesterday, a couple of key iOS updates were released to the public. You may have already seen iOS 7.1 show up on your iPhones and iPads. In addition, iOS 6.1 for Apple TV was released. Regarding Airplay, these updates now allow you to discover an Apple TV via bluetooth. That means that even on a network blocking Bonjour (mDNS) traffic, an iOS 7.1 device can discover an Apple TV via bluetooth, and then Airplay to it via the wifi infrastructure. Since Airplay was introduced, it has been the *discovery* of an Apple TV that was the main hurdle.
To leverage this new feature, you must have an iPad 3 or newer and a 3rd generation Apple TV. Those models have bluetooth 4.0, which is the key requirement.
