Hi,
I'm putting together a little cluster of 8 Mac mini servers that get Directory Services and shared home directories from one of them. It's mainly for a batch queuing computational chemistry set for about a dozen users. Everything is on Mavericks.
Everything works fine if I login to one of the machines from a login screen. The home directories are there and everything seems right and fine.
However, we will be doing quite a bit via ssh logins either to the Master or to clients. Normally, when you ssh to one of the client machines, it logs in just find but cannot find the shared directory where the home directory is. If I login first via the login screen, then logout, it works via ssh. (It doesn't survive a reboot or actually someone else logging in.) I've also placed a mount in the Run at Login part of the Users and Groups for that particular User.
I've done this several times but always with NFS. Want to stick with AFS since NFS isn't part of Server anymore.
I've messed around with command line mounting, mount_afs, autofs with no luck so far.
Any suggestions?
TG
