We have had best experience with Mimio. Relatively pleased with performance of one of our NECs, but the newer two have had lamp life and power supply issues,

I have experience with the Hitachi short throw projectors. They work well for interactive boards, but I also have one in a conference room that projects onto the wall. It sits on a cart with a computer, and the cart is up next to the wall.
As for your use in a gymnasium, the only way to know for sure if it will work there (not be washed out) is to actually try one. I know our local Troxell rep will come to your school and demo one if he can get his hands on one.

We are looking at a few Epson Powerlite projectors that are Ultra Short Throw; meaning they mount to the wall and only stick out from the wall by a foot or two but can still project a large image on the wall. If you have had any experience with these (good or bad) please let us know. We are looking to use them in a few classrooms as well as a gymnasium.

Hi Stephen,
At my last district, we were buying a bunch of the short throw Epson's - I believe they were the Epson's 475wi and they worked great but they ate up bulbs pretty quickly. We put the projectors in high altitude mode and that seemed to help with the bulbs lasting longer (Did I mention this was in NJ
- sea level) but the major problem we had was that they along with all of the Epson models would over heat starting in May and early Sept (temps would get close to 100 degrees with 90% humidity). In our gym we used a projector on a cart so it was mobile so that an accidental basketball didn't break a wall mounted one. Hope this helps

Subject: [Rockies-Edu] Printing from iPads and 3D printers

Does anyone have any suggestions for durable, wireless printers for our iPads? We have a couple of cheap HP's, but they run out of ink every week and we are constantly adding paper to them since the try can only hold so much.
Are there any reliable iPad apps so that we could print directly to our current, wired printers (in case we don't purchase wireless printers)? I tried 2-3 a couple of years ago, but they were not very efficient.
We are also looking into buying a 3D printer. If any of you have one, could you please email me directly at email@hidden as I have a few questions for you about them?
Thanks!
Kelly Nickell
